The stakes are higher, but the Barden Bellas look like they’re in pitch-perfect shape.

The official Pitch Perfect 2 trailer, which rolled out Thursday, brings back the lovable a cappella group – but this time they’re on the world stage, having won nationals at the end of the first movie.

It won’t be easy. As Elizabeth Banks (as commentator Gail Abernathy-McKadden) says: “The world hates us!” But the girls don’t seem too wound up about what could be a Rocky IV style showdown. Between an epic pillow fight and plenty of amusing one-liners, they’re in fighting condition for what should be an enjoyable follow-up to 2012’s sleeper hit.

Three of the film’s stars – Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick – grace this week’s cover of Entertainment Weekly. And Banks, who also directed the movie, opening May 15, tells the magazine there’s definitely added pressure.

“The first film flew under the radar, and it was a gift,” she says. “This time around, much higher stakes. Everybody is much more involved. As the saying goes, ‘Success has many fathers.’ ”
