The 55-year-old Amazon CEO attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party and was seen standing near Whitesell, 54, although the two kept their distance. “They were in earshot of each other but never spoke,” a partygoer tells PEOPLE. Bezos spent the night with his sister, Christina, and mingled happily among other guests. He didn’t stay in one place for long. The entrepreneur — who is worth an estimated $137 billion — was photographed arriving at JAY Z’s Oscars afterparty at the Chateau Marmont. Meanwhile, Whitesell was seen holding court near the lobby bar at the Dolby Theatre where the Oscars were held for much of the evening and was frequently greeted by other attendees. Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie, announced their separation in early January in a joint statement which he shared on Twitter. BACKGRID “We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other,” they said in the statement. Bezos and MacKenzie share four children: three sons and a daughter. Sanchez and Whitesell have two children together, and she has an older son from a previous relationship.
