It’s been seven years since fashion designer Tom Ford made his directorial debut with the drama A Single Man. Now the filmmaker is back with his highly anticipated second feature film, Nocturnal Animals.

The movie earned rave reviews and early Oscar buzz at the Venice Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival. (Check out PEOPLE’s first look here.)

Now there’s a teaser for the film’s trailer – with the full-length trailer set to debut on Thursday.

In the teaser, Ford’s signature style and aesthetic is on full display – and the subject matter is a little darker than A Single Man‘s lush romance.
