He certainly doesn’t look like your typical carnival clown.

Zac Efron had some pretty freaky company while on the set of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.

Ike Barinholtz took to Instagram on Wednesday, confirming that he is reprising his role as Seth Rogen‘s wildly inappropriate and out-of-control friend Jimmy. Barinholtz snapped a few pictures while on set of him donning a creepy clown costume.

The Mindy Project actor, 38, looks as if the Joker and Bozo the clown morphed into one terrifying character as he sports an orange wig and white face makeup.

Staying true to his character’s unexpected and oftentimes unseemly jokes, Barinholtz posted a picture of himself with Efron and captioned it, “So good to catch up with my son. Even though things didn’t work out with me and his mom I miss him and am proud of him.”

Efron also Instagrammed the same picture, simply captioning it, “um yeah.”

Barinholtz also managed to snap a photo with the sequel’s newcomer, Chloé Grace Moretz. The actress looks confused as a smiling Barinholtz leans in for a selfie.

No matter how creepy the photos might be, they do give us a few hints as to what we can expect in the upcoming movie – the outdoor set looks to be some kind of Greek Life festival.

Efron confirmed our suspicions when he posted another Instagram Thursday of him sitting on top of a car with the festival going on in the background. He also announced that he created a Snapchat account dedicated to giving behind-the-scenes looks of the Neighbors set while filming.

“#Neighbors2 is taking my Snapchat virginity today. See what it’s like on set and add us at “NeighborsMovie” Let’s get weird.”

Weird, indeed, with Barinholtz’s creepy clown on board.
