While Mila Kunis is used to the attention that comes with being a celebrity, she maintains that ex Macaulay Culkin has to deal with a much different – and more intense – breed of fame.

During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show Tuesday, the Bad Moms star told the host that during her eight-year relationship with the Home Alone star, she watched him encounter “abnormal” fans.

“He was huge so you couldn’t walk down the street with him,” she explained of the early years of their romance, which began in 2001. “He always had this weird [attraction]; fans would just scream – they didn’t know how to react.”

She added, “It wasn’t like a normal response to a celebrity. Fans responded in a very abnormal way to him.”

Culkin, who is now 35 and largely out of the film industry, is best known as a child star, appearing in both Home Alone and Home Alone 2, as well as 1991’s My Girl and 1994’s Richie Rich.

Kunis was only 18 when their romance started, and just beginning to make waves on That ’70s Show – the series where she met now-husband Ashton Kutcher after splitting from Culkin in 2011.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Culkin said he is now actively shunning fame.

“I don’t just turn my back, I actively don’t want it,” said Culkin, who now resides in France.

“It’s been like that my whole adult life. You take on a prey-like attitude, always scanning the horizon. It’s strange on dates, as it looks like you’re not paying attention,” he also said.

The star also shot down rumors of drug abuse, explaining that “No, I was not pounding six grand of heroin every month or whatever.”

As for Kunis, the star is pregnant with her second child with Kutcher, and also talked about the start of their romance in 2012.

After years of being just friends, the pair unexpectedly connected romantically at an awards show after-party, she told Stern.

“We started dating with the idea we were both never going to get married,” she said. “A year later we were like, ‘Tomorrow let’s [get married].’ “
