Michelle Williams Visits BFF Busy Philipps' Show to Gossip About Leonardo DiCaprio and More

Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams also open up about the time Matthew McConaughey forgot one of their names at a party

There’s nobody to spill the tea with like your best friend!

During Thursday’s episode of Busy Tonight, Busy Philipps’ BFF Michelle Williams stopped by, and during a steaming visit to the sauna, the two stars reminisced about some of the more hilarious moments they’d shared with some of Hollywood’s leading men.

Looking back on a time they were backstage at the Golden Globe Awards with Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio, Philipps, 39, shared that although the two men “were really nice to us,” the BFFs didn’t get an invite to hang out.

“Remember, we thought maybe they would invite us to go hangout. And then we realized that we’re women in our mid-30s?” Philipps remarked.

“Moms,” Williams, 38, clarified.

“I remember specifically Leonardo DiCaprio laughing at something I said and then looking at me, and it was like the first time, maybe ever in his life, he looked at at like, a 38-year-old woman…and like really looked at me,” she continued. “I did feel like in that moment, I felt he looked at me and he was like, ‘Oh, that’s not bad — that’s okay.”

The pair also recounted a party they attended for the film Brokeback Mountain, which Williams starred in along with her late ex-boyfriend Heath Ledger.

During the bash, Williams, Ledger, Philipps and her now-husband Marc Silverstein ran into Matthew McConaughey — who seemed to have a little difficulty remembering Philipps’ name.

“When he said goodbye to us he said, ‘Well, Heath and Michelle, best of luck to you in the coming weeks with Brokeback Mountain. Marc, it was lovely to meet you…He got Marc’s name and then he got to me and he’s like, it’s something weird, it’s something weird,” Philipps remarked.

“Whimsy, lovely to meet you too,” Williams interjected, imitating McConaughey’s distinctive drawl.

The two first met working on Dawson’s Creek and have been inseparable since. Williams even told PEOPLE in 2016 that Philipps was her soulmate.

“I’m so in love with her. She’s proof that the love of your life does not have to be a man! That’s the love of my life right there,” she said.
