Alright, alright, alright – he’ll have extra fries.

Matthew McConaughey‘s beach body was nowhere to be found on the set of his new movie Gold this week.

The Oscar-winner looked unrecognizable while in costume to film the movie in New York City.

McConaughey, 45, plays struggling businessman Kenny Wells in Gold, set to hit theaters in 2016.

Clad in a gray suit and tropical printed tie, the actor puffed on a cigarette as he toted around a briefcase for scenes. Aside from the obvious dad bod, the most jarring aspect of the star’s physical transformation is his new “balding” head.

In Gold, directed by Stephen Gaghan, McConaughey’s character teams up with Edgar Ramirez’s luckless geologist in an effort to find gold deep in the uncharted jungles of Indonesia. The movie, from production company Black Bear Pictures, will be distributed by TWC-Dimenson.

The actor sent the Internet into a tizzy when he stepped out in New York City on Wednesday wearing ill-fitting khakis and sporting his fuller frame.

McConaughey is no stranger to transforming his appearance for roles. He famously lost 40 lbs. to play the role of an HIV-positive man in Dallas Buyers Club. The new look paid off – the role resulted in his first-ever Oscar.
