It’s hard not to smile when in the presence of the dreamy Joe Manganiello – and actress Lindsey Moser found out it’s even harder when you have to be on camera.

Moser, 31, plays the “minimart girl” in Magic Mike XXL in a scene where the guys – Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, Kevin Nash and Gabriel Iglesias – bet Manganiello’s character, Richie, that he can’t make Moser’s bored-looking character crack a smile.

In an effort to make her light up, Manganiello dances and slides around the store, seductively busting open a bag of Cheetos and even pouring a water bottle over his head to catch her attention.

But the scene wasn’t captured in one flawless shot.

Moser, who finds humor in most things in real life, says she can’t even count how many times they had to redo it.

“Most of the time, it was just getting his stuff because it was so intricate and then, you know, a couple of times where it was because of my reaction shot for that,” Moser tells PEOPLE.

In order to hold a straight face while Manganiello ran around the convenience store, Moser says she had a game plan.

“They had me just kind of text someone on the phone, like I was talking to my girlfriend, so I just kind of made up this big story in my head that my girlfriend was sleeping with my boyfriend and that I was super pissed about that,” Moser says.

Moser adds, “And so then this really hot guy walks in and I’m like, ‘What the hell?’ He’s really cute in real life, so you would be incredibly shocked anyway, you know?”

When she wasn’t shooting her scene, Moser says she had time to be around the guys – and their goofy antics.

“At one point, while we were waiting around for everything to get set up, the guys were all just kind of like picking stuff up off the shelves in the gas station and were like, ‘What is this even made out of?’ ” Moser says. “They’re all just hilarious and just fun and it was like being in the middle of a big ol’ boys’ day.”

But when Tatum walked on set, Moser says he brought a certain mood to the room.

“He definitely just has this air about him and he’s just very handsome and so kind,” Moser says. “I mean, it’s one thing to meet a really handsome guy, but just that you see how great his heart is from like the moment you meet him … it throws you off your game a little bit for sure.”
