Kristen Bell reveals that Dax Shepard is giving her “unending support” ahead of her hosting gig at the Screen Actors Guild Awards
Kristen Bell couldn’t ask for a more supportive husband!
“He doesn’t really give out pointers or advice so much as he gives out unending support, which is very nice,” the 37-year-old explains.
She adds that living with a writer is “very helpful” because “you can sort of whisper things in their ear as they’re falling asleep.”
“I’m like, ‘Is this funny?’ “
The Good Place actress also reveals that, this year, the SAG Awards will “be celebrating more women” than in the past.
“There will still be men there obviously, but there will be a much better balance,” she continues. “And I think that’s in direct response to these winds of change that are happening where women are having a moment [and] a lot of them who haven’t had a voice are finding their voice.”
Adds the star, “We want this night to really honor that.”

As for experiencing any nerves about being face-to-face with some of her Hollywood idols, Bell says she’s come up with a few ways to stay calm.
“I don’t plan on making direct eye contact with any of them,” she says. “I’m also going to be hammered, so, no, I think I’ll be fine.”
After Bell was named as the SAG Awards host, she shared a comical video of herself discussing the history-making gig — and what the changes might mean for the nominees.
“I’ve been asked to host the SAG Awards this year, which means, to all my friends who’ve been nominated, I get to choose who wins!” she said, before someone off-camera informed the actress that wasn’t how the winners would be chosen.
“That’s not how it works? Then what am I doing? Like, Anne Hathaway and James Franco did? I’m doing that? Why, did I lose a bet?” she continued.
The SAG Awards will air on Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. ET on TNT and TBS.
