Katy Perry has a very straightforward dating mantra: just keep it simple.

On Thursday, the pop singer-songwriter, 30, opened up at the L.A. premiere of Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour about what makes for a perfect date night. And take heart, would-be suitors: She doesn’t need over-the-top gestures.

“[My] ideal date is really just so simple. I like connections and conversations and jokes,” she said during the Q&A panel hosted by Mario Lopez.

But the “Firework” singer also added that a good meal paired with a good film might buy a guy some brownie points. “I just like really good food, so dinner and maybe a movie – I love a documentary,” she said.

(A tip: The ArcLight Cinema is one of her favorite movie spots.)

Date night option No. 2? Take her on a hike!

The California native noted that she loves to spend time outside. And if someone really wants to seal the deal, he’d be wise to find a scenic route where she can go unrecognized.

“[I’d love] to be able to go on a hike and not turn it into a thing,” she said.

Getting that first date, though, could prove to be the biggest hurdle.

“If a guy wants to ask out Katy Perry, how would he do that?” Lopez coyly asked the “Dark Horse” songbird.

“On a hike via helicopter!” she cracked with a laugh.

Perry’s crazy schedule, however, might make it tough to squeeze in one of these low-key evenings. The performer just spent five weeks traveling Europe for her Prismatic World Tour and still has 11 concerts to go to complete the 140-show run.

All that glitz and glam will be on full display in Katy Perry: The Prismatic World Tour, which premieres Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on Epix.
