K-Hud is in the house!

After Kate Hudson posted an Instagram video of herself recording music with Samantha Ronson, fans have been wondering if the actress will be making the transition to pop star.

Hudson, 36, revealed her musical intentions when she stopped by The Late Late Show on Thursday night, and sadly, it looks like she won’t be releasing her debut album anytime soon.

“No, it would be so fun, but unfortunately the music I write is really depressing,” she admitted.

And while she plans to stick to acting, she said music has always been a big part of her life.

“I’ve been musical since I was young,” she explained. “I’ve been writing music since I was 18 – even younger.”

Hudson said just the other day she was looking through her childhood journals when she stumbled across one of her earliest musical gems that she wrote when she just 11 years old.

And proving even Hudson was a typical angsty preteen, she revealed that the song was titled “Why Is He Acting So Stupid?”

“If that didn’t foreshadow my life,” she joked.

While she couldn’t remember any of the lyrics to the song, host James Corden had a few ideas of how the tune could go. As the crowd clapped to a beat, Hudson joined Corden in singing the pretend song, showing off her singing chops.

But even with him (and now all of us) urging her to release some new songs, Hudson said she’s only recording the songs for her own personal enjoyment.

“I’m just putting some of it down, just to see how it sounds,” she said.
