Justin Timberlake might have chosen his next project with his 9-month-old son Silas in mind.

The nine-time Grammy and four-time Emmy Award winning musician and actor is about to make his mark on the world of animation.

Timberlake, 34, will serve as executive music producer on the DreamWorks Animation film Trolls. He will pen original music for the film as well as oversee all creative direction of its music. He’ll also perform multiple songs on the soundtrack.

But Timberlake won’t just be heard on the upcoming comedy, out in November, in song – he’s also starring in it – as Branch, a hardcore survivalist who hides his surprising true colors.

“I have always envisioned bringing the two worlds of film and music together for one epic event,” said Timberlake in a statement. “I couldn’t be more excited that they will collide in DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls. This film is very special, the music is going to be very special and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it all.”

Joining Timberlake on the film is Anna Kendrick, who will play Princess Poppy. Trolls premieres Nov. 4.
