Julia Roberts knows exactly what she wants for her 49th birthday.

The Oscar-winning actress celebrates her big day on Friday, and she’s asked everyone to contribute to her gift to benefit GLSEN, an education organization focused on ensuring safe and affirming schools for all students, especially LGBTQ youth.

While presenting the Visionary Award to PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly editorial director Jess Cagle at the 2016 GLSEN Respect Awards last weekend, Roberts invited fans to donate $49 to the organization in honor of her age.

“It is my pleasure every year to support GLSEN,” she said. “I love this night. I told the kids backstage … that this is like my third favorite night of the year — and one and two, but don’t tell anyone.

“But one of the three nights might be my birthday, which is next Friday,” Roberts continued. “If you wake up next Friday and think, ‘What should I get Julia for her birthday?’ then donate to GLSEN. I’m going to be 49, so a $49 donation would be great. Thank you.”

“For each of us, the measure of our work isn’t the measure of who we are,” Roberts said in an EW interview with Cagle earlier this year. “We have super-cool jobs, but we’re all going about our lives in the fashion that most people do: with integrity and kindness and, hopefully, a certain amount of privacy.”
