Portman stars as a pioneer woman living in New Mexico who accepts the aide of her former lover (Edgerton) in defending her family from an outlaw (Ewan McGregor) and his gang of ruffians.
In the clip, Edgerton watches Portman from on top of a cliff while she cradles a baby and embraces her husband Bill “Ham” Hammon (Noah Emmerich).
“When I finally found you, seeing you holding another man’s child, I knew you weren’t mine no more and that did something to me that the war never could,” Edgerton says in a voice-over as his character looks on in sadness over his ex-fiancée’s new life.
