Entertainment Movies Jessica Chastain Reveals She Did Not Attend Her High School Prom: 'No One Asked Me' The award-winning actress has donned countless ballgowns over the years, but she never wore a prom dress By Blake Bakkila Published on December 9, 2016 05:17 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Jessica Chastain has been invited to all of the most exclusive events in Hollywood — but she didn’t make an appearance at her own high school prom. “I went to a couple football games, but I didn’t go to my prom,” she said in a clip for NBC’s upcoming Sunday TODAY with Willie Geist. “No prom for you?” Geist asked. “No prom,” the Oscar-nominated actress, 39, said. “No one asked me.” RELATED VIDEO: Oscar Nominee Jessica Chastain Honored at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre In the interview, Chastain describes herself as “the theater nerd,” but Geist still could not get over the men who missed out on the opportunity to take the award-winning star to her prom. “How are those guys doing right now?” he asked, and Chastain replied with a laugh. Chastain recently opened up about her teen years, when she was not as confident in her own skin. She told The Edit earlier this month that she did not always appreciate her now-signature red locks. “I didn’t like looking different,” she said, “Being a redhead, you can’t fit into the group. I wanted to be blond so bad. I had really bad self-esteem and I asked my mom if I could dye my hair but she wouldn’t let me … Now, I celebrate it.” Chastain is set to appear in the upcoming film The Zookeeper’s Wife, which hits theaters in March 2017.
