You’d think people would have to be pretty hung over to mistake Jason Sudeikis for actor Ed Helms – but it happens all the time

Sudeikis, 40, stopped by Conan on Wednesday night, where he revealed that after starring in Vacation with Helms, fans are constantly confusing them for one another.

And while being mistaken for another celebrity might be frustrating for some celebrities, Sudeikis has learned to embrace his Hollywood doppelganger and laugh off the mix-ups.

“I’m in a good place in the sense that mine is a really nice, funny, smart guy,” he said of resembling Helms.

He did however, recall one especially awkward moment with a fan who thought she was getting her picture taken with Helms.

While attending the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington D.C., Sudeikis said he was approached by a woman who wanted to take a photo with him. But when the actor introduced himself as they were taking the photo, his name was definitely not what she expected to hear.

“Did you think I was Ed Helms from The Hangover?” he asked as they smiled for the camera.

“Yes, but it’s OK,” she said. “You look enough like him.”

But their encounter didn’t end there. Later in the night, the woman asked Sudeikis for another photo.

Confused as to why she wanted a second picture, he said, “We already did this.”

“Yeah, but I know who you are now,” she replied.
