Inside Anna Camp and Skylar Astin’s Love Story — and All the Signs They’d Split
PEOPLE confirmed on Friday that the Pitch Perfect costars had called it quits after over two-and-a-half years of marriage
In a joint statement to PEOPLE, the former couple said: “We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition.”
Astin, 31, has “stopped wearing his ring and has started talking about the split with friends,” a source told PEOPLE on Friday.
The split comes after the Pitch Perfect costars began dating in June 2013 following Camp’s divorce from Michael Mosley.
Camp, 36, spoke to Glamour in 2014 about meeting Astin for the first time. “We were friends first and just hit it off,” she said. “He’s literally my best friend. He’s a magical person.”
The pair then announced in early 2016 that they had gotten engaged over the New Year’s holiday weekend while they were on vacation in Hawaii. They tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony on the central California coast in October 2016.
“This has been the fastest year of my life,” Camp told PEOPLE ahead of the couple’s one-year wedding anniversary. “We fall in love with each other more and more every day we’ve been together. And I know it sounds, like, gross, everyone’s probably gonna throw up about that, but it’s actually really true.”
“We both send each other cards and he sends me flowers all the time,” she added. “We’re both working a lot and we do that to maintain that love connection — I think we’re both really kind of good at that.”

So where did things begin to go wrong?
The former couple was last spotted together attending the Mickey’s 90th Spectacular in October.
The last loving posts both Astin and Camp shared about each other were in January. Astin last posted a photo with Camp showing them cuddled up as they celebrated the New Year.
Meanwhile, Camp’s last post about Astin showed a series of photos of the former couple dancing, a few weeks after Astin’s New Year’s post.
Both have now unfollowed each other on social media.
At the premiere of Isn’t It Romantic in February, Camp walked the red carpet alone.
Since February, Camp’s ring cannot be seen in many Instagram posts, including in a March mirror selfie where her left hand is prominently visible or in a late February snap that appears to be from a photoshoot.
“Knowing that I have my best friend and that we are totally committed to one another and just to have that comfort and that safety and that bond where you know you’ve found your person,” Camp told PEOPLE in 2017. “The longer you stay with somebody, the closer you get, and it’s really the best thing in the world to have another person that loves you just as much as you love them.”
