Jeff Goldblum Returns in New Trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence, But Sadly There's No Will Smith
“We always knew they were coming back.”
The new trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence picks up 20 years where the first film, Independence Day, left off, and things are still action-packed and incredibly frightening.
Liam Hemsworth joins almost all of the project’s original cast – including Jeff Goldblum (David Levinson), Vivica A. Fox (Jasmine) and Bill Pullman (President Whitmore) as they try to make sense of the return of a group of extraterrestrials that nearly destroyed the entire planet in 1996 movie.
Oh, and if you’re wondering where Will Smith is in the sequel, the actor didn’t sign on for the new project, which means that the movie has had to explain the death of Captain Steven Hiller. According to a website set up for the new film, Hiller died in 2007 due to “an unknown malfunction” during a military exercise.
Independence Day: Resurgence hits theaters on June 24, 2016.
