The actress voiced Shank in the 2018 animated film
Gal Gadot had what it took to bring to life the determined street racer, Shank, in Ralph Breaks the Internet.
The 33-year-old actress voiced the tough and talented NPC racer in the game Slaughter Race that Ralph and Vanellope visit in the hit Disney film.
In a PEOPLE exclusive clip, director Phil Johnston explains how the Wonder Woman star influenced the creation of her character.
“We tend the embrace these broken, flawed characters and rarely is there one as solid as Shank,” he said. “She doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, the mistakes she’s made are in her past. So she’s able to give Vanellope good advice.”
Producer Clark Spencer said Gadot was able to straddle the line between a resilient woman and one who can show her vulnerable side.
“She had to come across both as a very tough character — she is the boss of that game — but also as a character who feels that soft side,” Spencer said.
In behind the scenes footage, Gadot is seen having fun embracing Shank.
“She just sort of has this easygoing warmness about her like, ‘Oh, I can sit down and talk to Gal. We can bring friends.’ We tried to put some of that into how Shank sort of carries herself,” Cory Loftis, production designer, said.
He added, “That relaxed, effortless posture that she has.”
Ralph Breaks the Internet is available on Digital 4K Ultra HD on Feb. 12 and available everywhere and Blu-ray on Feb. 26.
