Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker are ready to put a spell on us once more this September.

Disney announced Tuesday during the company's upfronts presentation that Hocus Pocus 2 — the much-buzzed-about follow-up to the 1993 original that starred Midler, 76, Najimy, 65, and Parker, 57 — will land on Disney+ Sept. 30.

Attendees also got a sneak peek of the film, featuring the three leads covering "The Bitch Is Back" by Elton John, as well as an appearance from zombie with a heart of gold Billy Butcherson (Doug Jones, reprising his role from the first film).

The clip also showed new characters, including the mayor of Salem, Massachusetts (Tony Hale), another played by Sam Richardson and two girls lighting the legendary Black Flame Candle.

"Lock up your children!" Midler's Winnie exclaims as the candle's lighting successfully summons her and sisters Mary (Najimy) and Sarah (Parker). "Yes, Salem, we're back!"

Producer Adam Shankman confirmed in a January Instagram post that filming on the sequel, directed by Anne Fletcher, had wrapped, writing of the release, "Coming to you #halloween #2022 on @disneyplus."

The movie will pick up almost 30 years after Max (Omri Katz) lit the Black Flame Candle in the 1993 film version and accidentally resurrected three witches on the hunt to steal children. It also starred Vinessa Shaw and Thora Birch.

In the sequel, Winnie, Sarah and Mary seek revenge as they awaken in present-day Salem, according to Entertainment Weekly. Three teens — Becca, Cassie and Izzy — must find a way to stop the witches from retribution.

Gossip Girl's Whitney Peak, Dirt's Lilia Buckingham and American Horror Stories' Belissa Escobedo will play the three teens. Also joining the cast are Hale, 51, Richardson, 38, and Jones, 61, plus Hannah Waddingham, Juju Brener, Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Henderson and Nina Kitchen.

According to a production source who spoke to PEOPLE in February, it was as if no time had passed for the returning cast while filming the sequel.

"Bette's energy is the same as when she starred in the original. If anything, she raises the stakes," the insider told PEOPLE.

The source added that the three stars "all feel like it's about time [the sequel] happens and they wish they had done it sooner. The chemistry between the cast was still there."

"Hocus Pocus fans will not be disappointed," the insider said. "All of their favorite characters from the first movie return and then some."
