Henry Golding knows exactly who to thank for helping him keep his head on straight.

The Crazy Rich Asians actor, 32, exploded onto the scene when the romantic comedy became a hit last summer, cementing him as the next rom-com lead ready to make women swoon. But the actor isn’t worried about what it will do to his two-year marriage with wife Liv Lo.

“My wife is the best woman in the whole universe,” he told PEOPLE at the Vanity Fair and L’Oreal Paris New Hollywood party in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. “She’s so strong, she’s extremely loyal, independent. I wouldn’t be able to do it without her, so it’s wonderful to be able to have this success, but also, it’s wonderful to be able to share it with her.”

But while he may be on the fast track to a star-studded career, he’s not interested in the attention that comes with it.

“There’s another side to me that’s like, ‘I don’t know if I’d be comfortable being Brad Pitt famous,’” he explained to GQ for its Men of the Year issue. “You can’t walk anywhere. You can’t live a life.”

The actor is still looking forward to the small things in life and spending time with his wife — but they’re not ready to add to their brood just yet.

“No time soon,” he told PEOPLE about having kids. “I think we’re going to lap up what we have and what we’ve sort of worked so hard for. We’re looking forward to traveling a bit. Some holidays.”

Having recently also starred in A Simple Favor opposite Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, Golding is next set to act in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming Toff Guys.
