Get your magic carpets ready!

During Sunday’s Grammy Awards, Disney released a new trailer for its highly anticipated live-action remake of Aladdin.

The film, which is set to hit theaters in May, arrives 27 years after the original animated version came out in 1992.

The new, minute-long clip includes the first look at footage of Will Smith‘s blue-skinned and very buff spin on the genie, a role first made famous by Robin Williams. (After an Entertainment Weekly cover story in December seemed to show otherwise, some fans wondered if Smith’s version would be blue — then he clarified on social media that he would in fact be the correct hue in the movie, with help from CGI.)

In the trailer Smith’s genie playfully ribs Mena Massoud’s Aladdin, “You really don’t know who I am? Genie, wishes, lamp … none of that ringin’ a bell?”

When it was announced that Smith would be portraying the genie, his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, gushed about his new gig on an episode of the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“‘You know what, this is perfect for you because you’re always creating magic,’ ” the actress recalled telling her husband.

In October, Smith shared a film poster to Instagram, captioning it, “LEMME OUT!! Can’t wait for y’all to see Me BLUE! 🙂 #aladdin”

Naomi Scott and Marwan Kenzari round out the core cast, playing the roles of Princess Jasmine and Jafar, respectively, while Billy Magnussen will be portraying the new character Prince Anders.

For the remake, directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes), the fictional city of Agrabah will be created from global influences, including the Middle East, India and even China. Not only will the 1992 animated movie be a major influence, but the screenplay will go back to the classic Arabic folktales of One Thousand And One Nights.

Disney’s Aladdin hits theaters on May 24.
