What’s so funny, George and Amal Clooney?

The actor, 53, and his wife, 37, looked smitten as ever as they enjoyed an afternoon laughing and smiling on the set of George’s upcoming film, Money Monster, on Saturday in New York City.

The Descendants star donned a vest carrying fake explosives (a costume for the film), while the British lawyer looked ready for spring with a pastel printed blouse, jeans, wavy locks and sunglasses.

The newlyweds chatted with cast and crew members while the Oscar winner took a break from filming.

Absent from the animated group were their pups Einstein and Louie, who made an appearance strolling with the couple during Amal’s previous visit April 12 with her brother Ziad Alameddine.

Although the stylish lawyer is as busy as a visiting faculty member at Columbia Law School for the spring semester, the duo have found time for endless romantic dates around Manhattan.

“Amal and George look happy and in love,” a source in their New York social circle told PEOPLE of the newlyweds. They exchanged vows Sept. 27, 2014, in Venice, Italy.

“They’re spending time with other couples and friends who are bright and driven and interested in improving the world,” the source added.
