Entertainment Movies British Hardware Store Warns Staff to Prepare for 'Sensitive' 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Queries The memo also asks staff to monitor stocks of cable ties and duct tape By Tara Fowler Published on February 12, 2015 07:30 AM Share Tweet Pin Email A British hardware store is preparing for a surge in “sensitive” questions in advance of this weekend’s release of Fifty Shades of Grey. In a leaked email memo, the DIY chain B&Q encourages its employees to “familiarize themselves with the content of Fifty Shades of Grey by reading the novel or watching the film upon its release,” The Telegraph reports. The memo also says that copies of the book will be provided to employees for a week in order to “better prepare staff for incoming queries.” “Queries may be unusual and sensitive in nature, but staff are reminded of B&Q’s commitment to assist customers in a polite, helpful and respectful manner,” the memo reads. “Store managers are requested to monitor stock levels of rope, cable ties, masking tape and [duct] tape to ensure that supplies do not run low.” The memo does not, however, say what sanctions employees face if they do run out of rope. Our palms are twitching just thinking about it. Fifty Shades of Grey, which stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, opens in theaters on Feb. 13. (And Amazon still has plenty of cable ties available.)
