Welcome to the Wizarding World of New York in 1926.

The highly anticipated first trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is officially here, and illuminates us about the unique difficulties with keeping magical creatures under lock and key.

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling invites fans back into the world of magic and wizardry with Eddie Redmayne portraying Newt Scamander, a magical zoologist and author of a Hogwarts textbook that bears the same name as the film.

The film takes place nearly 70 years before that of Harry Potter and his crew, and depicts the secret community wizards lived in and the prejudice they dealt with in the form of No-Maj – or “no magic” for those not fluent in wizard.

The trailer gives the first glimpse of Scamander’s adventures as he comes to New York to help capture the escaped supernatural creatures. It also introduces fans to Potter newcomers Colin Farrell, Katherine Waterson and Dan Fogler.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them flies theaters November 2016.
