On Wednesday, Elizabeth Banks posted a behind-the-scenes photo with Ella Balinska, Naomi Scott and Kristen Stewart, the stars of the upcoming Charlie’s Angels remake that Banks is directing and writing. She’ll also star as Bosley, the never-seen owner of the Charlie Townsend agency.
“#BTS @CharliesAngels on set. Ella, Kristen, Naomi. #4PercentChallenge,” Banks, 44, tweeted.
Time’s Up and the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative issued the 4 percent challenge last month to encourage Hollywood to commit to one project with a female director in the next 18 months. Actress Tessa Thompson officially kicked off the challenge on Jan. 25. with a speech at the Sundance Film Festival.
Before Scott, 25, spreads her wings as an angel, the British actress will play Jasmine in Disney’s upcoming live-action Aladdin, opening in May. Charlie’s Angels marks 22-year-old Balinska’s first major big-screen role, while Stewart, 28, also has films Underwater and Against All Enemies in the works.
