Dwayne Johnson is a man of his word.

After giving fans a first look at the official poster for his upcoming animated film Moana on Tuesday, Johnson kept his promise and released the worldwide premiere of the trailer on Good Morning America Thursday morning.

The actor, who is on location in Hawaii filming Jumanji, introduced the trailer by giving viewers a “taste of Polynesian culture” and taking part in a fire dance and native chant.

In the trailer, the titular character Moana (Auli’i Cravalho) tracks down a fallen demigod named Maui (Johnson), in order to go on a quest and save her people from a “great danger” that threatens the peaceful island she calls home.

“I’m not going on a mission with some little girl,” Johnson’s character says in the trailer before Moana shocks him with her ocean abilities.

“The ocean is a friend of mine,” she explains.

Lin-Manuel Miranda provides original music for the Disney film, which sails into theaters Nov. 23.
