The first trailer for the action blockbuster Rampage has dropped — and in it, Dwayne Johnson isn’t monkeying around.

Adapted from the classic 1980s arcade game, the first Rampage footage introduces “The Rock” as a primatologist named Davis Okoye, who’s spent the past few years befriending and caring for an intelligent silverback gorilla named George. That is, of course, until a rogue genetic experiment causes George to mutate into a gigantic, King Kong-sized monster and start smashing things. To save his friend, Davis teams up with a discredited genetic engineer played by Moonlight’s Naomie Harris to try to develop an antidote — and so begins a smash-’em-up destruction fest with plenty of explosions and giant gorilla action.

Oh, also? George isn’t the only animal who’s been affected. There’s also a giant killer crocodile in the Chicago River and a 30-foot wolf who can take down airborne helicopters.

Rampage reunites Johnson with his San Andreas director Brad Peyton, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, and Joe Manganiello also starring.

Rampage will, um, rampage into theaters April 20, 2018.
