Does Dakota Fanning have a new man in her life?

The actress, 22, was all smiles when she was spotted holding hands with a man in New York City last week. The star kept it casual in a leopard fur coat, flared pants and loafers. Meanwhile, her companion wore a hat, hoodie and jeans.

Fanning has kept mum on her personal life since entering the spotlight at an early age. She was most recently linked to British model Jamie Strachan.

In an interview with Town & Country for its October issue, however, the star opened up about her thoughts on dating.

“I find dates, in general, horrific,” the actress said in the interview. “We have to sit there and ask these questions and pretend to eat a meal, and it just feels so stiff.”

She continued: “The way I prefer to meet someone is through a friend [because that means the person] is most likely not a freak.”

The film hit theaters on Oct. 28.
