Chris Hemsworth Says He's 'Happy' If Liam's Happy Being Back with Miley Cyrus

The actor is also, apparently, a fan of the pop star's music

Chris Hemsworth has officially issued his support of Miley Cyrus – well, her music, that is.

The actor kept mostly mum about his younger brother Liam Hemsworth‘s relationship with (and re-engagement to) the pop star at Tourism Australia’s celebration of Australia Day in Bryant Park on Monday, but did indicate an affinity for Cyrus’ tunes.

“I’m happy if he’s happy, whatever he’s doing in life,” Chris told Entertainment Tonight at the event. “I can’t confirm any of that but, you know, he’s smart [and] he’s happy.”

Later, during a no-holds-barred game of “Would You Rather” with celebrity chef and fellow ambassador Curtis Stone, Chris was asked “If you could perform with a band, would you rather perform with KISS or Miley Cyrus?”

After an uproarious response from the crowd and a long pause, Chris chose his future sister-in-law.

Miley and Liam were first engaged in 2012 but split – seemingly for good – later the next year. Cyrus ignited speculation that two were back on by wearing her Neil Lane engagement ring out and about earlier this month, and a source close to the “We Can’t Stop” singer later confirmed to PEOPLE that the pair were back on.

“Miley is beyond happy to be engaged to Liam again,” the source said. “It might seem sudden, but they have been very close for the past few months.”

The tourism event on Monday wasn’t all about Chris’ younger brother, though. The actor also got silly while weighing in on everything from athletics to politics.

The Thor star admitted he would rather win an Oscar than surf the biggest wave in history (“Because then I’d be dead”) and opted to stay silent on whether he’d “rather dance naked for Donald Trump or have Donald Trump dance naked for you?”
