Channing Tatum Wants a Break from Acting in 2013
Say it ain’t so, your hotness!
Channing Tatum, 32, who starred in five movies in 2012 alone, and has four more on deck for the year ahead, tells EW.com that he’s not quitting acting but hopes to take some time away next year to work on directing projects with his production partner Reid Carolin, a screenwriter.
“[Reid and I] have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we’re going to shut things down and write the first thing that we’re going to direct,” Tatum said. “We’re going to be like, alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let’s take a few and really get caring about that section of our career.”
Ambition is sexy, isn’t it? So is taking off your clothes when you look like Tatum: EW also reports that he’s been at work on a Magic Mike sequel as well as a biopic on daredevil motorcyclist Evel Knievel.
“I love the steps that I’ve taken acting-wise,” Tatum said. “That has been a wild sort of exploration. But I don’t want to just keep putting [directing] off for these fun and incredible opportunities.”
