While the guessing game continues over who will be cast as the new Spider-Man, there is definitely one actor out of the running.

The Walking Dead‘s Chandler Riggs recently Tweeted that he frontdid not get the role.

“Good luck to whoever lands spiderman role – it would’ve been awesome for me!” wrote the 15 year old, who plays Carl Grimes on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

He also confirmed in a Facebook comment that he did in fact audition for the role.

According to Deadline, Tom Holland and Charlie Rowe are now considered to be the front-runners to play the character, who will first appear in Captain America: Civil War and then launch into another Spider-Man reboot, due out July 28, 2017.

Captain America, which stars Scarlett Johansson, Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., is currently filming in Atlanta so the pressure is on to cast the next Spidey.
