Charlize Theron clearly has a need for speed.

The actress, 40, has officially signed on to star in Fast 8, the latest installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, reports Deadline.

According to Variety, while little is known about the plot of the upcoming film, Theron is expected to play a villain of sorts.

Fast 8 is set to begin production this summer, with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez reprising their roles in the upcoming film.

While Theron will be a fresh face for the franchise, she certainly isn’t a newbie when it comes to fast cars. She starred in the 2003 hit remake of The Italian Job and has just come off the Oscar-nominated action-packed thriller Mad Max: Fury Road.

Fast 8 is expected to hit theaters April 14, 2017.
