French actress and director Valérie Lemercier will star in The Power of Love, a European biopic about the five-time Grammy winner, Deadline reports. The film will begin with Dion in the ‘60s, and cover her career through the present day, as well as her relationship with her late manager and husband René Angélil. The Canadian vocal legend, born in Québec, launched herself into the music business with numerous French-language albums before breaking through in the U.S. with 1990’s Unison, which features hits like “Where Does My Heart Beat Now” and “(If There Was) Any Other Way.” RELATED VIDEO: Celine Dion Celebrates Her Twin Sons’ Eighth Birthday: ‘You Make Me Proud Every Day’ Dion, 50, has since kicked off a successful Las Vegas residency, currently playing at the Colosseum at Ceasars Palace, that will end in June after seven years. Lemercier, 54, will also write and direct The Power of Love, set to begin filming in France this spring. French Canadian actor Sylvain Marcel will portray Angélil, who died in 2016 at age 73 after a long battle with throat cancer. Angélil and Dion had three children together. Lemercier is also a singer having released her album Chante in 1996. Michel PONOMAREFF/PONOPRESSE/Gamma-Rapho via Getty The “My Heart Will Go On” singer recently addressed rumors that she’s moved on with her backup dancer Pepe Munoz after they were seen together frequently over the last two years. “I am single,” she told ITV and The Sun’s Dan Wootton earlier this month. “The press said, ‘Oh my God, René just passed and now there’s another man.’ Yeah, there’s another man in my life but not the man in my life.”
