She went on to portray Kate Gregson in the Diablo Cody TV series United States of Tara from 2009 to 2011. The series followed Tara Gregson (Toni Collette) as she struggled with dissociative identity disorder while trying to raise her daughter, Kate.
Scott Pilgrim v. the World
In 2010, Larson was seen on the big screen as Envy Adams, Scott Pilgrim's ex-girlfriend. The film also starred Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Alison Pill and Chris Evans.
Short Term 12
Larson's first leading performance came in the 2013 independent film Short Term 12. She played Grace Howard, a young supervisor of a group home for troubled teenagers. Larson won the role through a Skype audition and her performance was critically acclaimed.
