All the Important Women in Bradley Cooper’s Life: From Irina and Gaga to His Mom and Past Loves
Cooper started dating the Russian supermodel in 2015, and they welcomed daughter Lea De Seine in March 2017. “[Having a family has] changed everything,” the Oscar nominee said during Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations from Times Square earlier this month. “Our daughter, she’s incredible. And I see my father in her quite often.”
While wedding rumors have swirled, the two never confirmed if they’ve gotten engaged or tied the knot. Still, Shayk supported Cooper throughout awards season, looking on in the front row from when he took the stage with Lady Gaga for an intimate performance of “Shallow” at the 2019 Oscars.
Just before he started seeing Shayk, Cooper dated Waterhouse for two years beginning in March 2013 after meeting the actress at the Elle Style Awards in February of that year. Though they kept their romance under wraps, Cooper took Waterhouse as his date to the 2014 SAG Awards and she escorted him to a White House state dinner in February 2014 before breaking up the following year.
The former Sexiest Man Alive and the Bridget Jones star started dating in 2009 after meeting on set of the supernatural thriller Case 39. Although they never officially confirmed their relationship, Cooper gushed about her in 2010, saying, “I can’t say enough about her. I just love her. I [loved] coming to work. I love acting with her. I can learn so much from her.”
“He was funny, smart cocky, arrogant and a master manipulator,” the Blue Bloods actress wrote. “I didn’t necessarily find him that attractive, but I figured that I could enjoy his sense of humor and nonsense for a while.”
The other Jennifer in Cooper’s life: his frequent costar Lawrence, with whom he’s starred in American Hustle, Joy, Serena and Silver Linings Playbook.
“We don’t talk often, but when I showed up in Boston for Joy, then all of a sudden it was like we never stopped,” he told Deadline in 2015. “We just started where we left off, and that’s rare. It’s just easy to look at her and feel like I’m telling the truth.”
Cooper couldn’t help but gush about his latest costar after working with her on the remake of A Star Is Born, which he also co-wrote, directed and produced. He told Entertainment Weekly in August that he and Gaga had chemistry, “From the moment [we met].”
“The biggest thing I learned is that sky’s the limit if you find a companion artistically, and you have a project,” he continued to EW of teaming with Gaga. “There is no dreaming too big. What people can do together is so much more powerful than what they can do by themselves.”
And she returned the sentiment. “I’m so grateful to you, not just for making me a better actress, but I’m so grateful that, not have I only been able to call you as a professional, but I’ve been able to call on you as a friend,” the pop star said while honoring Cooper in Beverly Hills in November. “To cry and be myself, and have you never, ever judge me and still respect me as a professional, thank you for that.”
Charlie the Dog
Though not technically a woman, another one of Cooper’s A Star Is Born costars who has his love: his real-life pup Charlie, who also appeared in the Oscar-nominated musical drama.
“There was no nepotism — I wanted this relationship with the dog,” Cooper told PEOPLE in September at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. “[Jackson and Ally] don’t have a child together but they have a dog together, and I wanted it to be part of their story. I love dogs.”
No matter who he dates or works with, Cooper has always had his mom along for the ride. The Oscar nominee brought Campano to the 2019 Academy Awards, along with Shayk, as his date for the evening. He also took mom to the 2019 SAG Awards.
Aside from being his go-to plus one, Cooper called Campano his roommate not too long ago. In 2013, Cooper revealed he’d been living with her since his dad Charles’s 2011 death. “She's a cool chick,” Cooper told Details magazine in 2013. “We can hang, and she can roll with the punches. If that wasn't the case, there's no way.”
