Bradley Cooper captured our imaginations with his promise of “culinary orgasms” in the last trailer for Burnt, and now he’s giving even more details on the experience in an exclusive new clip from the film.
Cooper plays Adam Jones, an up-and-coming young chef who’s determined to rebuild his career after his drug addiction and erratic personality cost him his first restaurant.
In this never-before-seen clip obtained by PEOPLE, the American Sniper star challenges his sous chef Helene, played by Sienna Miller, to redefine her expectations for the restaurant after they receive a lukewarm review.
When asked what cooking should be an expression of, Miller answers, “At its best, of sustaining someone and love.”
Cooper shows her the newspaper review while she cuts fresh pasta in the kitchen. The critic calls his restaurant “one of the best and most interesting places to come and eat.”
“I don’t want my restaurant to be a place where you come and eat,” Cooper complains. “We should be dealing in culinary orgasms. When s the last time you had an orgasm that was ‘interesting?’ ”
In the film, Cooper’s character’s ultimate ambition is to open a Parisian restaurant and gain the coveted Michelin three-star rating.
