Ben Stiller Reveals He Is Three Years Cancer-Free After Battling Prostate Cancer: 'I'm Really Happy'

Stiller revealed he was diagnosed with prostate cancer at age 48

Ben Stiller is feeling happy and healthy after beating prostate cancer.

The actor, 51, stopped by the Today show on Wednesday morning, where he gave an update on his health.

“I’m three years, now, cancer-free,” he said.

Stiller revealed he was diagnosed with prostate cancer at age 48 during an interview with Howard Stern in October 2016.

“It came out of the blue for me,” Stiller said. “I had no idea.”

His doctor suspected the cancer due to a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test, a simple blood test he received during his annual physical.

After two separate PSA results revealed high levels, he went through a series of tests, including an MRI and biopsy, which confirmed his diagnosis of prostate cancer.

“If I hadn’t gotten the test, my doctor started giving it to me at 46, I still wouldn’t know,” he said.

Looking back, the actor said he’s happy he decided to speak out about his diagnosis — and the test that ended up saving his life.

“I’m really happy that getting the word out there about the PSA test has actually made a little difference,” he said on Today.
