When Ben Affleck stepped out on Sunday in his first Stateside sighting since announcing his split with wife Jennifer Garner, he wasn’t wearing a wedding ring but photographs of him that day reveal what appears to be new ink on his lower back.
Whether it’s a temporary tattoo or body art that he’s had for a long time isn’t clear but it’s not the only tattoo the Oscar winner has sported.
The 42-year-old had a dolphin on his right hip covering up the name of his high-school sweetheart, and has been seen with barbed wire across his right bicep, a large design featuring a fish and a skull and crossbones on his right arm and some initials inscribed on his shoulder blade.
He’s spoken in the past about his tattoos, some of which he got when he was still a teenager.
“I was young. It was fun and cool. I’m sorry now, but it is a good lesson in decisions that have important and long repercussions,” he said in 2000.
Affleck and Garner spent a few days in the Bahamas with their three children on an emotional post-split vacation, and after a solo weekend in Los Angeles the actor headed to Atlanta where Garner is shooting the film Miracles from Heaven.
