Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus have rekindled their romance nearly 7 months after their split.

“Ben and Lindsay have picked back up where they left off at this point,” a source tells PEOPLE.

A second source close to the actor adds the two “are spending time together” after they broke up in August.

“He loves to be with her,” the insider adds. “They are both focusing on their families.”

Shookus, 38, and Affleck, 46, have been spotted together in recent months. The pair attended the New York City premiere of Triple Frontier on Sunday night. While they didn’t walk the red carpet together, they were seen walking out side-by-side in the snowy weather.

After the premiere, the pair headed to the afterparty where they stayed close to each other while Affleck made the rounds talking to people.

Affleck, who completed rehab in September, has also had help throughout his recovery from his family, including ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

In a candid interview while promoting his film, Affleck opened up on the Today Show Monday about his life as a dad and how thankful he was to have Garner, also 46, as a co-parent for their three children Samuel Garner, 7, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, 10, and Violet Anne, 13.

“I hope I’m a pretty good dad,” he said. “I certainly try very hard. I’m lucky they got a great mom, and she helps out a great deal with making sure that we co-parent in as good a way as possible.”

He continued, “Dads are so important to kids, and it’s our responsibility to be there for them — to be present, to be mindful, to be attentive, to be part of their lives, to be as in it as moms.”

“That’s really the central preoccupation in my life,” Affleck admitted. “The focus of my life is what I love doing. It’s what makes me happy, and the rest of the stuff kind of follows.”

Triple Frontier is on Netflix March 13.
