Who Bonded? Who Kissed? The Superstars of Batman v Superman Pose for PEOPLE
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice flies into theaters Friday
Setting any on-screen rivalries aside, the cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are clearly more like friends than foes in real life.
The superstar ensemble – which includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Holly Hunter, Jesse Eisenberg and Diane Lane – along with director Zack Snyder were all smiles when they came together on March 18 at the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles for this exclusive photo.
When they’re not stealthily decorating each other’s trailers, the cast members say their mutual support as an ensemble made the shoot a success.
“Gal [who plays Wonder Woman] did such a great, amazing job and made all the scenes that I was in with her better. She made me better,” Affleck said at the film’s recent press conference in L.A.
He continued: “She is my favorite part of the movie when she shows up.”
Cavill agreed her presence alone is something special.
“She brings something statuesque, something otherworldly to the character, and it’s remarkable to see,” he said.

Affleck also said another leading lady helped ease his nerves while he donned the Batman costume on camera for the first time.
“You think, ‘Well, here it is, I am really doing this,’ ” he said. “It was very nice to have Diane there – a friendly face and a great actress. She kind of looked at me like, ‘It’s going to be okay.’ ”
Perhaps he has the same fond memories of working on 1996’s Hollywoodland (in which he played Superman actor George Reeves) with Lane, who admitted on the red carpet at the film’s N.Y.C. premiere that kissing Affleck was “fabulous” in that film.

As for the on-set shenanigans, Cavill said the pranks between him and Affleck are just heating up.
“I don’t know who posted the first thing, but I’ve enjoyed it enormously,” he told reporters at the premiere. “We’ve been quite tame, actually. I think it’s probably going to get worse throughout Justice League. We’ll start painting each other’s trailers and stuff.”
