Ready for a Showdown: Batman v Superman's Ben Affleck & Henry Cavill Arrive in China to Promote Film
The two stars were joined by director Zack Snyder as they sat down to discuss the upcoming superhero epic
Batman and Superman have gone international.
The two stars were joined by director Zack Snyder as they sat down to discuss the upcoming superhero epic at a press conference on Friday afternoon.
“The biggest challenge going into was the sort of daunting aspect of playing a character who’s got such a fixed place in people’s minds already. You know people’s expectations. I think that was the biggest challenge,” Affleck said, according to Sky News.
“I didn’t get to create the character. I had to sort of recreate something and hope that it fit into people’s, our idea of who Batman was already and hope that they would accept my nuances on it,” he added.
Both Affleck and Cavill exhibited their superhero status, looking sleek and fit for the appearance. Affleck, 43, donned a simple black long-sleeve shirt while Cavill, 32, also went for a darker look in black long-sleeve button-down.
Speaking about getting in shape, Cavill told reporters, “The idea behind Superman, for me, in preparation, doesn’t really change from movie to movie. But with this one particular, it was having to work doubly hard in the gym, because I knew I was going up against Ben, and Batman.”
He added, “I had to make sure that I was a fair match.”
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice sees the two caped crusaders in a heated battle as Batman embarks on a personal vendetta against Superman after the fallout from his destructive battle in Man of Steel.
Batman v Superman hits theaters March 25.
