'Bad Boys for Life:' Everything We Know About Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's Sequel

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will reunite for Bad Boys For Life, set to hit theaters in January 2020

Bad Boys fans have patiently waited over 15 years for a third installment in the hit action series. Next year, the wait is finally over with the release of Bad Boys for Life, a sequel to Bad Boys and Bad Boys II, that reunites Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami cops Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett.

Since the two actors revealed they have were returning for the third film in November, they’ve been busy teasing fans with first glimpses of the movie.

Just last week, Smith and Lawrence were photographed in what appears to be one of the many elaborate chases their characters take on in the upcoming movie.

In the photo, Smith, 50, is seen riding on the back of a motorcycle as Lawrence, 53, rides alongside him in a sidecar while handling a mounted mini-gun.

Details about the production began leaking when Smith posted an Instagram in January of himself and Lawrence writing, “First Day of Shooting tomorrow!” Smith also revealed that the duo rewatched the first two films to properly prepare.

In February, Smith revealed Bad Boys for Life will be very foul mouthed as well as action-packed. In a video posted to his Instagram, Smith and Lawrence are seen reading lines from the script with most of the words bleeped out.

“EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK at @BadBoys Script Reading. NO SPOILERS!” he wrote in the caption.

“There’s about to be a big reveal,” Lawrence says before his voice is cut out in the clip.

While the plot of the film has been kept under wraps, several well-known actors are joining the fray such as Vikings actor Alexander Ludwig, Vanessa Hudgens, Riverdale’s Charles Melton and Joe Pantoliano who is reprising his role as Captain Howard.

Bad Boys for Life hits theaters January 2020.
