Can’t wait an entire month before getting your next fix of Avengers adventures?

PEOPLE is coming to the rescue with an exclusive sneak peek behind the scenes of Avengers: Age of Ultron, which hits theaters May 1.

The sequel to director Joss Whedon’s 2012 blockbuster The Avengers will bring back Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Captain America (Chris Evans) for another superhero storyline, complete with a new villain from the comic books.

Ultron – voiced by James Spader – is a wicked piece of artificial intelligence that turns against its creator, Tony Stark, and prepares to destroy all of the hope in the world. As the planet’s fate rests on the Avengers’ (super-strong) shoulders, the gang is put to the ultimate test to take down the technological terror.

And the on-screen bond between Earth’s mightiest heroes is just as strong in real life.

“Filming has been great,” says Chris Evans in the featurette. “It’s like summer camp!”

But the gang admits it can be both a blessing and a curse for director Joss Whedon on set when a cast is as tight-knit as the Avengers team.

Says Jeremy Renner in the clip, “It’s tough to wrangle 10 crazy actors that love each other.”
