Giving their vampire and werewolf costumes a break, New Moon stars Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz headed to Nevada Saturday to celebrate Halloween and host the Yelloween party at Tao Las Vegas.

Lutz, dressed as Batman’s sidekick Robin, and Greene, plumed up as a peacock, hit the red carpet as hundreds of Twilight Saga fans gathered to get a glimpse of them, while the two actors skillfully ducked any question that didn’t pertain to their upcoming movie. New Moon opens Nov. 20.

Following a dinner of Asian cuisine with about 20 friends, Lutz, 24, and Greene, 22, headed to a VIP skybox at Tao that overlooks the club. Sipping on Veuve Clicquot Champagne, the sponsor of the night, the two didn’t seem to notice the hundreds of people vying for their attention – though, apparently in the party spirit, at one point Lutz grabbed the microphone and told the club, “Let’s do a massive amount of shots.”

Greene said she was happy to kick up her heels – out of her Alice Cullen vampire guise: “It’s definitely very fun to dress up in something different. Don’t get me wrong, I love the costume – but everyday for two hours, it wears on you a little bit.”

‘More About Heartbreak’

In New Moon, she says, “Edward [Robert Pattinson] kind of breaks Bella’s heart, so you definitely see Jacob [Taylor Lautner] kind of swoop in to rescue her. You get to see their chemistry and dynamic. It kind of keeps you on the edge of your seat a little bit more than the first one.”

Comparing the two films, she says, “The first one is very much a love story, and this one is kind of more about heartbreak and healing, and you got the wolves come in and there’s that threat, that danger. I actually saw the movie about two months ago, and it’s really good.”

New Moon she says, “is a little more guy-friendly. It’s a lot more action-packed, and the wolves are funny, because they’re a threat and a danger to our family but they’re also protecting this person that we all love – so we kind of have to get along with them.”
