Yes, that is a tear sliding down Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s face in the new trailer for Maggie.

The action hero plays a father struggling with a difficult decision – whether to cuddle or kill his daughter, Abigail Breslin, who has contracted a virus that’s turning her into a flesh-eating zombie.

Cure her. Save her. Kill her. These are the choices facing Schwarzenegger, 67, who’s clearly conflicted as he tells the teen, “I promised your mother I would protect you.”

“I’m really proud of my new film, Maggie,” the former governor of California said in a post on Facebook. “This is the most human zombie film you’ve ever seen, and it’s the most human role you’ve ever seen me take on. My co-star, Abigail Breslin, is absolutely incredible in the title role, and our director, Henry Hobson, made a beautiful film.”

Maggie is out May 8.
