Anthony Michael Hall appeared in Los Angeles superior court on Dec. 1 and pleaded not guilty to the charge of felony battery, PEOPLE has confirmed. An arrest warrant was issued for the actor Nov. 29 and he is facing up to seven years in prison for a physical altercation with his neighbor.

The Breakfast Club actor, 48, allegedly broke his neighbor’s wrist and injured his back during a heated confrontation outside their Playa del Rey condo two months ago, reports TMZ. A video of the alleged incident, supposedly showing the actor and his neighbor, was caught on tape.

The Los Angeles County D.A. charged Hall with felony battery with great bodily injury. The addition of the bodily injury charge increased the maximum jail term from four years to seven. A preliminary court date was set for Jan. 12.

This isn’t the first time Hall has been in trouble with his neighbors. In 2011, he was booked on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace after a separate altercation with fellow residents at his condominium complex.

At the time, a neighbor claimed the actor was ripping up plants in the common area of the apartment complex, and when confronted, Hall allegedly responded with an obscenity and challenged the man to a fight. The neighbor declined, and called the police.
