Pregnant Anne Hathaway 'Looks Great and Seems Very Happy' Since Baby News, 'Hasn't Slowed Down at All,' Says Source
Anne Hathaway seems happier and healthier than ever since becoming pregnant with her first child.
“Anne looks great and seems very happy,” a source tells PEOPLE, adding that, “She seems to have a lot of energy.”
News of her pregnancy broke on Friday, and while the actress has been keeping a lower profile since her baby bump started to show, a second source says she’s not letting it get in the way of her active lifestyle.
“Anne hasn’t really slowed down at all,” the source notes. “She was always very active and likes to be out and about. Nothing seems to have changed after she got pregnant.” In fact, the source adds, “the only difference is that she looks even happier than before.”
Hathaway and her husband of three years, Adam Shulman, spent Thanksgiving weekend together in Los Angeles, and were spotted out for a stroll on Saturday, holding hands and smiling from ear to ear. The actress’ baby bump was barely visible under her loose T-shirt, jean jacket and dark pants.
“Her pregnancy style is very cute too,” says the first source. “She seems excited about her baby and often had a hand resting on her bump.” Her husband, meanwhile, “acted very protective” and “hurried to open store doors and doted on her.”
The day before Thanksgiving, the cute couple went to M Cafe for lunch, followed by a trip to Williams Sonoma. “They were both smiling and looked very happy. Anne shopped for kitchen accessories and kitchen gadgets,” the first source observed.
While Hathaway has been keeping busy, her upcoming work schedule is the lightest it’s been since she won her Oscar in 2012. The actress recently wrapped production on Alice Through the Looking Glass, and is currently filming Nacho Vigalondo’s sci-fi thriller Colossal, set to hit theaters sometime in 2016. Her next project, The Burning Woman, isn’t slated to come out until 2017.
The star has hinted that there might come a point in her life when work takes a back burner to family. She told the Telegraph in 2012, “I’d like to have as many [children] as I can afford, not just financially but in terms of time, because you want to make sure each one feels special.”
“I’ve had one goal in mind for the past 12 years, which is: get a movie, get a movie, get a movie,” she added. “Now I might have to say: get a baby, get a baby, get a baby.”
She expanded on that sentiment last year while promoting Rio 2, saying, “I’ve wanted to be a mother since I was 16, but I also just knew I wanted to have a career as well. So now I think that I’m getting to an age when I don’t know exactly when that moment will be but I think I’m coming upon it.”
As for how many children Hathaway wants to have down the road, she hinted to the Telegraph in 2012, “I’ll start with one healthy kid but I’d like to have a few naturally and adopt.”
No matter how many children she has, the actress has made it clear she’s very eager to start a family.
“Oh, my God. I want to be a mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely,” she told Vogue in 2012. “I think about it all the time, though it’s a silly thing to think about because the kind of mother I’ll be depends on the kind of children I have. I can’t wait to meet them.”
