Amy Schumer had a packed house when she performed at Madison Square Garden recently, but there was one audience member she was especially happy to see: her dad.

Schumer, 35, took to Instagram on Monday to share an emotional post about how much it meant to have her father supporting her at the history-making show on Oct. 18, which made her the female comedian to headline at the arena.

“My dad watching me at the garden,” she captioned a video of her dad, Gordon Schumer, laughing in the audience.

Schumer’s father resides in an assisted-living facility and has been living with multiple sclerosis since the Emmy-winning actress was only 12. The comedian thanked Gordon’s aides for helping him get to the show.

“I want to thank all his aids and doctors and nurses and Nilda and especially Dr Sadiq for giving my dad a second chance at life,” she continued. “He never used to be able to come watch me perform. But he is reborn with the faith you have given him. Everyone at Tisch MS research center thank you.”

In the video, Schumer is heard giving a special shout-out to her dad, joking that he and her mom raised her to be a “wise ass psycho.”
