Diving In! Amber Heard Joins Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson for first 'Aquaman' Table Read

This will be Amber Heard's first role since divorcing Johnny Depp

It’s back to work for Amber Heard.

The actress has officially started working on the upcoming Aquaman film.

The movie’s director, James Wan, posted a photo on Twitter of Heard, 30, posing alongside her Aquaman costars Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson during their first table read.

“After school detention with the new Breakfast Club,” he captioned the above shot.

Heard plays Mera, queen of Atlantis and love interest of Momoa’s Aquaman in the upcoming superhero film.

And while she’s working hard to get her lines down, she’s also been working with the film’s makeup artist to craft the perfect aquatic-inspired look.

“Working with this lady today….” the film’s makeup artist Melanie Ingessis posted on Instagram.

This will be Heard’s first major role since she filed for divorce from Johnny Depp in May. The actress had to schedule some of the divorce proceedings around her busy schedule filming Justice League in London.

Their divorce was officially finalized earlier this month.

While Mera will be introduced in Justice League, she is expected to play a bigger role in Wan’s standalone Aquaman film, scheduled to hit theaters on July 27, 2018.

Justice League will arrive in theaters first, on Nov. 17, 2017.
